Thursday night I joined [livejournal.com profile] caflygrl and [livejournal.com profile] orionnebula and a few others to go see A Midsummer Night's Dream on the common. It was very good, although the interpretive dance of the fairies frightened me a bit. It is a section that is a good spot for creative interpretation in the play, and their interpretation was certainly creative! The fairies were wearing bright fluffy pants and capes in neon colors and dancing rather erratically.

Friday after work I met up with Andreas and [livejournal.com profile] grateblue2 to go to The Garment District to pick up clothes for the '80s party we're attending tonight. I decided to go '80s punk instead of just general '80s so I picked up an old faded band T-shirt and cut off the sleeves and neckline, a pair of black jeans which I cut some artful "rips" in before I threw it in the wash today to make them fray, and pretty plastic earrings and a matching bracelet, and some hot pink fishnet gloves. I also bought some black lace up shoes that remind me of ballet flats. Sadly I had forgotten that I already bought black and white striped sneakers with charms on them on Thursday, and I think those are the ones that will make it to the party. I'm also throwing on one of the lovely skull wristers that [livejournal.com profile] grateblue2 knit for me and my normal wallet chain, and my spiked collar if I can find it. I wish I still had my dog chain with the padlock, but oh well...

Today I did laundry in between spurts of *very* heavy rain - it's been thunderstorming all day with intermittent flash floods. Soon I can leave to go to [livejournal.com profile] grateblue2's and get ready for the party. :)

Hmm...

Well, the weekend was filled with knitting and more knitting. Saturday I went out to Quincy (a suburb of Boston) to meet a knitting buddy, Jennifer. We headed out to Hanover, MA (I've never been there before, cool!) and went to AC Moore for their yarn sale - which resulted in me purchasing my promised sweater's worth of yarn for Tubey! Then we headed back to her house, ordered some yummy pizza, and knit for a good part of the day.

I came home and watched Serenity (Finally... It was awesome!) and a bit of Veronica Mars and started on my sweater.

Today I slept in - a bit too late, actually - and then cleaned up a bit around the house and went to Knitsmiths. I worked on a scarf for me - that shall be cool too. :)

Today [livejournal.com profile] hibrian and I went to Bamboo Garden for lunch. There was a slight complication getting there because of traffic from the Seattle marathon and ensuing madness.

After lunch we headed out to Southcenter to see Pride and Prejudice, but decided on the way to just go shopping instead. We made a quick run to Old Navy where I bought a black fleece and some socks, headed over to Borders to look for DV for Brian, which they didn't have, and spent some time getting creative in Jo Ann's while looking at furry yarn.

We headed over to Half Price Books where I found Lemony Snicket #10 and #11 (no DV there either) and then to Barnes and Noble. Guess what book they didn't have. ;)

We headed over to the mall. Outside the mall Eulogy came on The End, which is having a no repeat weekend. Otherwise they never would have played a song with such a long intro, but I guess they're getting desperate! Sad though, because they have an entire day to go - wpnder what gems will be coming on tomorrow...

I decided against a sweatshirt at Express Men. It was adorable - and Brian has one already, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money. At Hot Topic I would have bought a H.I.M. shirt, but all they had was Youth Large and adult Large, neither of which are my size.

After the mall we went to get Bubble Tea, but sadly Yunnie is closed on Sundays (duh!) so we couldn't. :( Instead we went to yet another Barnes and Noble, which also didn't have DV but did have other fun things. We browsed books and giggled for about an hour!

Now I'm back at my aunt and uncle's house, and looking forward to my last day in Seattle tomorrow.

Here's Melanie and me at the Volunteer Park greenhouse.

Yesterday we went to the greenhouse, went to Weaving Works and got our U-district fix, and then headed down to U-Village. We had some coffee at Starbucks with Zoe standing guard, and then we took turns holding Zoe while we alternately checked out stores.

Here's [livejournal.com profile] meli88 with the wild-eyed Zoe.

Meli is wearing her birthday present rainbow scarf knit by yours truly.

Last night while talking to my mom I found out that the wedding I'm going to next weekend (for my cousin) is a little more formal than I thought. Which sent me on a quest to find a dress - something which is not as easy as it sounds.

Well, while my PCR was running in lab I headed over to the Cambridgeside Galleria where I tried on many dresses. More than 6. And then I found one that *drumroll please* fits all of my body at the same time! Wow, it's a miracle!

Then, to make the miracle even more miraculous I found some shoes. I'm set. I'm happy. This was a good shopping trip - and it took less than 3 hours from lab door to lab door.

:)
