Petty complaining

First off, I would like to say that Norway has a new princess, second in line to the throne, and her name is Ingrid Alexandra. Yay! I voted for Ingrid on Aftenposten's poll!
Ok, so now for the rant:
I am really tired of my teachers saying what they don't mean. There has been a wave of speakos (like typos, but spoken) going through my classes and it's really annoying when they don't correct themselves because us confused students have to wonder for 30 seconds if they really meant what they said of if they were trying to say something else. In biochem our professor keeps reversing things he says, in micro our professor keeps saying the wrong DNA bases, and writing them wrong as well until somebody asks why an A is paired with an A and he realizes he's been copying his error over and over.
So yesterday in microbiology class our professor was talking about DNA adenine methylation. Then he kept calling it (and writing) DAM methylation. But the M is for methylation! This is so annoying, it's like ATM machines. But it's bad enough when the lay public does it, and it's about 100 times worse when a professor is standing in front of the class using an abbreviation wrong over and over. Ug.
