I needed some fun after a loooooong week at work, so I headed out to Fenway and met [livejournal.com profile] caflygrl for dinner at Cambridge 1 (not in Cambridge, I know!). Potato pizza is yummy.

Then we headed back to her place for some knitting and baseball-watching. I learned that if the hit bounces on the ground and then into the stands so the outfielder can't get it there is a rule that you get two runs and not a Grand Slam. (Too bad, though!) The Red Sox were doing really well when I left so I assume they won. I had to escape at the bottom of the 7th so I could beat the crowds home on the T - it worked.

Tomorrow I'll have my first really whole day off in a while. I'm planning to finish the body of my Rhinebeck sweater and block it so I can take it to [livejournal.com profile] bryghtrose's to put the zipper in on Sunday evening. If necessary I can put the sleeves in later. I am going to try to finish those soon too, if possible. Rhinebeck is next weekend - eek!

Today it is cool and windy but it's warm in the sunshine and the sky is a rather optimistic blue, almost like it's pseudo-colored. I took a long walk in a big circle, stopping in Central Square and heading over to 1369 where I had a lovely Almond Joy (coconut hot chocolate) and wrote in my "little black emo book" as [livejournal.com profile] orionnebula likes to call it.

My hair is also extraordinarily straight today - I haven't figured out yet what it is that changes my hair between curly/wavy and straight, probably some combination of the weather and the precise amount of wetness left when I brush it.

Now to knit a sweater.
