I haven't been having the best luck with doors lately...

The other day I closed the door to my room and ended up having to unscrew the doorknob and open it with a wrench.

Well this morning as I was leaving my apartment I locked the door and then looked down because something was not right. The key was partially in and facing the wrong direction, and it wouldn't turn, however the door was locked, and now it wouldn't unlock. I called the maintenance company and left a message, and headed to work.

I returned home to find my door equally stuck. I called again, still no answer. I left another message. I sat on my porch and got another phone number from one of my neighbors returning home - still no answer. Another neighbor came home and gave me the cell number of the actual maintenance guy who comes and does the work so I called him. He did answer and said he would be over in a few minutes.

When he got there he tried his keys and a lock pick to no avail. He said he was going to have to climb in the window! A huge ladder, a screwdriver to pry the screen, teetering very precariously by my window and with all the neighbors staring I decided that my apartment is probably not an ideal one to break into. That's good. :) Once he was inside he went to open the front door from the inside, but it still wouldn't unlock! I stood in the hall and heard much banging, and then he asked me to kick the door in. Turns out he had to take the pins out of the hinges and I had to throw my weight against the door quite a few times before it finally opened. Well, actually it just popped out of the hinges and then he had to pull it because the bolt part of the lock was still "locking" the door. My cats were very disturbed. Luckily I have more than one lock as he had to break the malfunctioning one with a screwdriver and a hammer. He promises to come tomorrow and give me a new lock.

And now a cool new calculator I found on last.fm:

Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting numbe rof unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small(extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

My eclectic score is currently: 81/100
The 81 related artists for my profile are 3 Doors Down (2), A Perfect Circle (2), Alanis Morissette, Alice inChains, Alkaline Trio, Amorphis, Anathema, Audioslave, Blackfield, Blink-182, Brand New (2), Breaking Benjamin, Bright Eyes, CKY, CountingCrows, Deftones (2), Dream Theater, Evanescence, Fall Out Boy (2), Foo Fighters (3), Gravity Kills, HIM, Hypocrisy, Incubus (2), Jimmy Eat World, KMFDM (2), Katatonia, King Crimson, KoЯn, Lifehouse, Linkin Park, Live, Machines of Loving Grace, Marillion, Marilyn Manson (2),Matchbox Twenty, Ministry, Modest Mouse, Moonspell, My Chemical Romance(2), My Dying Bride, Nickelback, Nine Inch Nails (2), Nirvana, No Doubt, Opeth, Orgy, Papa Roach, Paradise Lost (2), Pearl Jam (2),Pixies, Placebo, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Rammstein, Rise Against, Riverside, Rob Zombie, Sentenced, Something Corporate, Soundgarden, Spock's Beard, Stabbing Westward, Stone Temple Pilots,System of a Down (3), Taking Back Sunday (2), The 69 Eyes, The Cardigans, The Cranberries, The Decemberists, The Early November, The Get Up Kids, The Postal Service, The Shins, The Smashing Pumpkins (3),The Starting Line, Third Eye Blind, Three Days Grace, Tool, Weezer, lostprophets
