I may have mentioned it before...
Jan. 17th, 2006 05:23 pmBut I am always putting things "someplace safe" and then forgetting where exactly that safe place is. So much, in fact, that I've designated an official "safe place" for papers and such in my bedroom - it's that bad. Of course, that doesn't help with stuff which I placed before that "safe place" existed.
For example, the CD for my old camera software. I found the manuals (while looking for some yarn) in my closet a few weeks back. I put them aside so I could easily find them (my livingroom windowsill, if you're wondering) and didn't think much about it.
So, when I went to look for the software CD I assumed it would be in that closet. First I looked in all the bags and boxes that I thought must have my software CDs. I found a few - all in different boxes. Microsoft Works in one, the XP reinstallation CD in another, You Don't Know Jack in yet another... But alas, no Olympus CD. I went to my bedroom closet and looked in the laptop bag - no. I went back to the other closet and started opening boxes. In fact, after emptying nearly the ENTIRE closet, I found a box labelled "PHOTO ALBUMS, PENS, SOFTWARE CDs (including Sims)" from when I moved. In this box I finally found the CD.
However, in the process, I found a lot of other things I've been looking for:
baby pictures of me (knew they were somewhere!)
a box for a ring
my knitting needle sizer/gauge check
an Evanescence CD I've been looking for
a tin to use as my "Fun Fund"
one handknitted sock (the other is around somewhere)
and yarn that will work for a scarf I was thinking about today!
