This evening after my fascinating class on science in the news I got on the train and headed way way out there on the green line to meet Rick and Alasdair. We got some pretty good Indian food at Gold Star (hey, blue star would be better, but it's not a bad name!)
After dinner we headed to the movie theater and saw Sin City. I really had no idea what to expect going into it. I heard yesterday that it was about comic books - which I of course have never read. I also heard it was really violent. Based on this I was a little afraid that I wouldn't like it. It was really good, though.
I liked the artistic aspect of the filming in black and white with added color. It did seem a bit strange, however, that sometimes the blood was white and sometimes it was red. (And in one case yellow, but that was a bit special.) I loved the colors - and the story was suprisingly not too hard to follow. It reminded me, in a strange way of Amores Perros, but keep in mind that I'm a bit random in my movie associations. I guess maybe because there are multiple storylines that come together.
Anyway, it was an enjoyable experience. :)
