Freezing!!!
Jan. 5th, 2004 04:25 pmYep, it's freezing, really really freezing. This morning I walked out my door, took about five steps, and then ran back inside and put on my down jacket over my hoodie sweatshirt. My legs almost froze waiting for the bus, I was wearing my fleece gloves, and I wore my hood too!
At school I dreaded walking across campus. Also the big fountain was frozen, or at least the top was. When I first walked by I thought "Wait, are those birds standing on the water???"
The only thing that really comforts me in this time of freezing-ness is my choice that I'd rather pay a few bucks more for electricity than freeze in my apartment. So here's how I figure. My electricity bill for November/December was an average of $0.78 per day. Now I have to take into account that I have a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and all my appliances and hot water on the same bill along with my heat. And of course I couldn't totally turn the heat off, cuz I might actually freeze to death. So assuming I turned it down really low, say 50 degrees, I might save $0.25 per day, maybe. And for that price I'd rather skip a coffee a week and be warm!
